The conductive self-adhesive backings are designed for use with any of the company's work surfaces including conductive neoprene, coloured static dissipative PVC nitrile and two-ply static dissipative matting. Self-adhesive static dissipative or conductive matting is ideal for use in conjunction with TBA's ECP 525 two-pack, water-based epoxy floor coating to provide comfortable areas where operatives work with a direct conductive path to ground. The conductive self-adhesive backing dispenses with the requirement for a hard wire connection to the matting and also prevents matting from slipping or moving around on floors. All TBA ECP matting types are durable and flexible with good lay flat properties and offer a wide range of benefits such as excellent heat and chemical resistance and the ability to withstand all solder temperatures. Matting materials are designed to comply with the electrical requirements of section 4.3.3. BS EN100015 PT 1: 1991. NEW FLEXIBLE STATIC DISSIPATIVE SHEET FROM TBA ECP IDEAL FOR CLEANROOM SOFTWALL APPLICATIONS |

Offering the desirable cleanroom characteristics of low offgassing, low particulate contamination and washability, the new ECP 21140 and 21150 materials are clear polyester TPU sheets with surface resistivity of 1010Ohms/square (at 50% RH). Combined with exceptional strength, these charateristics make the materials ideal for use as cleanroom softwalls, flexible packaging, hose and tubing and floor and table mats among other flexible applications. The materials are humidity independent, aqueous washable and can be recycled. Specifications include static decay rates of 1.3s for ECP21150 and 0.9s for ECP21140 (±5000 to ±50V at 12% RH) and tear strength of 68kN/m for ECP 21150, 65kN/m for ECP 21140. ECP 2000 series compounds are true alloys where a dispersed phase of static dissipative polymer is set up within a host polymer. This provides a continuous phase of the host material with a network of the static dissipative polymer interconnected in a second phase. In this manner, permanently dissipative alloys with surface resistivities of 109 to 1010Ohms/square are typically produced. ECP 1456 overshoes are lightweight and fit comfortably over a variety of shoe types. The unique re-useable, wipe clean design prevents them from falling off and provides better electrical contact than foot straps. The overshoes are ideal for visitors and temporary staff as they can be worn directly over ordinary shoes. Four sizes are available namely small (shoe size 4 to 6), medium (7 to 9), large (10 to 12) and extra large (13 to 15). The ECP 1600 series encompasses a wristband checker, system checker, surface resistivity meter, surface resistivity and resistance to ground test kit, continuous workstation monitor, shielding bag tester and static monitor. These enable accurate, efficient and regular testing of individual components in an electrostatic protection area (EPA) to ensure that the requirements of BS EN 100015 PT 1: 1991 are being met. The self activating ECP 1600 wristband checker automatically tests wristband, cord and operator and features a large LCD readout plus two-colour low current LEDs. These enable personnel to see at-a-glance whether the wristband system passes or fails the preset limits. ECP 1601/1601EUR are systems designed to check three features of a workstation, namely operator, cord and matting. ECP 1601 is BT approved and ideal for BT subcontractors. ECP 1601EUR features the addition of an audible alarm and can be configured as a heel strap test station. ECP 1602 is a handheld instrument for measuring surface resistivity and resistance to ground. Supplied with test lead kit and static dissipative carrying pouch, the meter is ideal for quick checks on working surfaces etc. The ECP 1603 test kit is designed to carry out the above surface resistivity and resistance to ground test precisely as defined in Appendix A of BS EN 100015 PT 1: 1991. This kit comprises a Megger BM80 insulation tester, test lead kit, test probes and 2.5kg weight as per the standard. TBA ECP's continuous workstation monitor, ECP 1604, constantly monitors both operator and workstation and provides visual and audible alarms to indicate failure. Catering for both open and short circuits, the monitor relies on resistance measurement to detect failure. Ranges are as specified in BS EN 100015 PT 1: 1991. The shielding bag tester is designed to satisfy the requirements of both BS EN 100015 PT 1: 1991 and EIA 541 Appendix E. The European specification and its American counterpart specify the methodology required to establish the shielding effectiveness of metallised shielding bags. Static monitor ECP JCI 140 is a compact "field mill" instrument for easy and reliable measuring and monitoring of surfaces at high sensitivity. Moulded from TBA ECP's own conductive polystyrene, the ECP 1172 and ECP 1173 drawers feature an interlocking tongue and groove for easy assembly. Each drawer is provided with a removable divider and a location point for a label to be fitted on the front while the outer shell of each drawer features a "keyhole" slot at the rear for wall mounting. The company can supply a wide range of polymers modified with a variety of conductive fillers. These plastics can be tailored to provide varying degrees of electro conductivity and are especially suitable for use in applications where protection from electrostatic discharge and electromagnetic interference is required. Conventional plastics are normally electrically insulating materials that typically exhibit surface resistivities between 1014 and 1016 ohms/square. TBA ECP's range of conductive polymers fills the gap between these insulating plastics and conductive materials such as metals. The polymers are broadly categorised into static dissipative plastics and EMI shielding plastics. Static dissipative plastics feature surface resistivities between 106 and 1012 ohms/square and are designed for use where slow and controlled dissipation of electrostatic charges is required. Conductive plastics with surface resistivities of less than 106 ohms/square are designed to meet the requirements of BS EN 100015 part 1, specifications that refer to the protection of electronic components from electrostatic discharge (ESD). EMI shielding plastics feature volume resistivities of less than 1 ohm-cm and offer up to 55dB attenuation for EMI radiation. A wide range of polymer bases, such as polyolefines, nylons and ABS, is employed to produce various conductive plastics. Typical of the range is ECP 104, a mineral filled polypropylene that can be used to mould a variety of containers for static sensitive devices and PCB handling equipment. The mineral filler produces rigid mouldings with excellent dimensional stability. Static control polymers are permanently conductive, easily processed on conventional moulding equipment and grades can be tailored to suit a variety of requirements. Static dissipative plastics include the new ECP 2000 series that is designed specifically for clean room environments where washability, low off-gassing and low particulate contamination are required characteristics. These compounds can be coloured, are permanently conductive and can be processed on conventional equipment. Products moulded from ECP 2000 series polymers are humidity independent, aqueous washable and can be re-used. Applications include packaging for electronic components, medical device packaging, in-process carriers, fixturing devices, chip rails, vacuum tubing and business machine components. Because of their flexibility, the ECP 2000 thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) based alloys can also be useful as cleanroom softwall materials, flexible packaging, hose and tubing and floor and table mats among other flexible cleanroom applications. EMI shielding plastics are moulded from standard plastic compounds with added stainless steel fibres. TBA ECP supplies these as masterbatch compounds for immediate moulding. The masterbatch is added at very low levels to ensure minimal effects on colour, mouldability and other base polymer properties. The use of the masterbatch system allows shielded plastic products to be moulded in one process without additional equipment, labour or secondary processing, providing a cost-effective solution to EMI shielding problems. Non-abrasive, these plastics can be coloured and are suitable for use in any plastic moulding process. Shielding levels of 50dB can be achieved with stainless steel fibres added at 1% of volume, a level that has minimal effect on moulding colour. ECP 641 is a clip-on gasket featuring perpendicular contacts to enable shielding between perpendicular mounting surfaces such as a PCB and enclosure. The new gasket is available in a standard thickness (0.13mm) with a low compression (0.08mm) version for use where closure forces are reduced.
